On his Talk of the Town appearance Sheriff Blanton mentioned something I thought was interesting, that the original consultant plan had almost 100 beds more that he is requesting. I'm glad the Sheriff and his staff understand our community needs and opinions better than that. He also said that the crime rate is dropping, so lets hope law enforcement keeps up the good work- the lower the crime rate, the smaller a jail we need!
